Been working on a new portfolio site for a while - finally finalized it and put it online. It can be visited here:

Would be very grateful for any feedback! :)

I can't view the entire site with my HP ProBook because the screen resolution is only 1366x768 and there isn't a horizontal scroll bar. It works well on my phone though because I can zoom out.

I like the drop pod, but I felt really confused with the site, like I didnt even know where to click, might be my eyes, or the text kinda blends in to everything else, the layout feels very noisy to me.

    "edit"

is there a resume? guessing you are going to PSQ?

I wrote it to dynamically resize depending on resolution, but you're right, there seems to be some issue here - it worked on my test URL so I'll see what I can do to make it works as intended - thanks for the heads-up!

While you can use the arrow keys to navigate, I'd have to agree that it is too wide and difficult to navigate.

On the tsar tank, you need to remember that the Soviets were none to fond of the tsar, having murdered him and his family, so it's quite unlikely that they would have named a tank after him.

I edited the first post to my temporary URL instead for now - it will be slower to load but the resizing should work there. Let me know if it has improved the experience!

Jonas Ronnegard: I do indeed! I'm working on a resume at the moment but don't have anything finalized yet.

Edit: Might experience issues on the other URL too... strange as it worked perfectly fine yesterday. As of now the layout may only look proper on a width of 1920 pixels, I'm looking into it at the moment. Until then it can be viewed properly on lower resolutions by decreasing browser zoom. Hardly an optimal solution but works until I get the code working again.

Text is really hard to read
Thumbnails are too small to really see what I'm going to be clicking on.

Design-wise its pretty nice though. Just needs some more work but it seems like you're still working on it.

I actually like the overall look of the site. It looks very professional. It's like I visit a game company website or a corporate website or something like that.
However, it is a little confusing at time.

Do you really need all images to be PNG files ? It takes too long to load an image. 5MB+ >_<"

Images should not open in the same page/tab. Either open in new tabs, or use fast loading lightbox (not with PNG files !!). Blank loading screen = worst

Outgoing links at the bottom should definitely open in new tabs.

Under 'IN-DEPTH INFORMATION', I think the text links of "View wireframe" and "View texture maps" should be smaller thumbnails instead. Same with all other text-links.

Under "PROPS & ENVIRONMENTS", where there are 4 proj, I'd not put them in a horizontal order, but instead list them down vertically like the rest of the website.

    Like this;
    DROP POD GAME ASSET | [IMG][/img]TEXT + DESCRIPTION |[IMG][/img]LAUNCH DAY & SANCTUARY |[IMG][/img]TEXT + DESCRIPTION |[IMG][/img]HIDEOUT ENVIRONMENT CONCEPT |[IMG][/img]TEXT + DESCRIPTION |[IMG][/img]VARIOUS PROPS & ENVIRONMENTS |[IMG][/img]TEXT + DESCRIPTION |[IMG][/img][IMG][/img]

The menu 'PROPS & ENVIRONMENTS | USER INTERFACES | DESIGN & PROMOTION' doesn't seem to scroll up the page the same speed as the rest of the page. (before it sticks to the top)

    I'm using Chrome here, btw.
Overall, I like the look of it. While its navigating needs some more work.

I have done some improvements based on feedback - it should work better for all resolutions now, it's a little bit glitchy in Firefox atm but mostly works fine.

Regarding PNG files, I've let all pictures on the actual site be JPG files, while all pictures you can access and download be PNG files - to me this is a good compromise between file size and quality.

Personally I vastly prefer opening images in the same tab to something like a lightbox, although this is personal browsing preference (I make heavy use of mouse gestures so going back/forward is incredibly quick)l

I'll look into changing some layout things such as thumbnails etc.

Finally, regarding the horizontal/vertical layout, previously I had it exactly like you described and I do like it that way, but many complained about having to scroll down way too much so I redesigned that a bit.

I also changed the colors a bit to make it more clear to the user where they are on the site, hopefully that should help with navigation.
